Now, for the first time, the independent Swiss watch company has given its high-performance Big Crown ProPilot Big Date a new lease of life by also dressing it in bronze. The new model, in warm tones, features a bronze case, including a fluted bezel and a distinctive oversized crown. It is embellished with a deep black dial with printed gold indexes. Since this is a true pilot’s watch, the hands are coated with white Super LumiNova and the applied hour markers are made of solid Super LumiNova, creating high contrast and legibility. The hard-wearing green Ventile strap features Oris’ playful bronze “Lift” clasp, a device inspired by the seatbelt buckles on airliners. As with all Oris watches, it houses a highly reliable Swiss mechanical movement. In this case, it’s a precision automatic movement with an oversized large date.
