Description
The Nomos Tangente 2date is love at first sight. Its double date display, silver dial and meticulous finishing make this watch one of a kind. A true masterpiece of German watchmaking.Tangente CollectionThe Tangente is more than just a Nomos model, it’s an icon. Born of the desire to create a watch that is both timeless and modern, the Tangente embodies the very essence of German watchmaking. With its clean lines, round case and “Baton” hands, it quickly became a classic. Over the years, the collection has been enriched by numerous variants, while retaining the Tangente’s original DNA: a minimalist design and a high-precision mechanical movement.Tangente 2dateWith its new Tangente 2Date, Manufacutre NOMOS Glashütte illustrates what it likes to do best: innovate! Why settle for a single date display when you can track the days in two exclusive ways? Here, the date ring on the edge of the dial and a large aperture at 6 o’clock both play their part. Together, they present the day’s date at a glance and allow you to see the entire month. Iconic designYou can’t change the design of an icon! With its straight, slender case, angled lugs, typical NOMOS thread hands and elongated serif font, the Tangente has long been the brand’s muse. The Tangente 2date becomes a pro in the Art of Dating. The compact 37.5 mm diameter and exceptional 6.8 mm thinness are retained, allowing it to assert itself on the wrist, without being bulky and yet going perfectly with dressier outfits. On this version, we find a beautiful galvanized white silver-plated dial with rhodium-plated hands. We appreciate the black “Tangente” typography used to mark the hours with elongated serif numerals, the trademark of the Tangente model. They also appear in the date window at 6 o’clock. The seconds dial features a recessed azure surface. The second hand is also rhodium-plated, and the different shape of the hour markers adds an extra touch of personality. Finally, this watch is adorned with a Manufacture “Horween Genuine Shell” bracelet in black Cordovan. A brand-new Manufacture caliberUntil now, NOMOS’ exclusive date ring was reserved for the Update versions of the Tangente neomatik and Metro neomatik. With the new DUW 4601 caliber, a manually-wound watch now offers it for the first time!Visible through the extra-large sapphire crystal on the caseback, you can admire the movement’s rich decoration, including the date plate. An anti-reflective coating on the inside ensures total clarity to this spectacle. At first glance, the sophisticated sunburst emanating from the NOMOS swing system, the Manufacture’s proprietary escapement, stands out. This innovative component with its blue balance-spring is surrounded by a fine sunburst polish. Not only does it enhance the three-quarter plate, a traditional feature of Glashütte watchmaking, it also incorporates the date ring plate around the movement. To make the NOMOS swing system even easier to observe, the cockerel has been elegantly skeletonized. And that’s just the outside of this fine movement. The picture doesn’t show the barrel spring capable of storing energy for 52 hours. The quick date setting is also particularly practical. You can easily move forward in time with a few turns of the crown. To do this, the crown must be pulled out and placed in the second of three positions.
