The La Modernité pendant in silver is inspired by words from Charles Baudelaire. The following words are hand engraved on the pendant: ‘La modernité, c’est le transitoire, le fugitif, le contingent, la moitif de l’art, dont l’autre est l’ternel et l’immuable. Il y a eu une modernité pour chaque peintre ancien.’ Translating to: ‘Modernity is all that is transitory, ephemeral, within the realms of possibility, that half of art, whose other is eternal and immutable. Each old master was modern once.’ From the journey to France.
