This new BR-X5 Racing with its particularly powerful design, faithful to the specific features of the BR-X5 collection, owes its solidity and lightness to the use of high-tech materials, and its precision to a manufacture automatic movement.High-tech materials at the service of functionalityIn the demanding world of motorsports, the hunt for weight is a constant. Lightness is a crucial asset, but it must not compromise the rigidity and robustness of vehicles. To achieve this balance, manufacturers turn to cutting-edge materials, often borrowed from aeronautics and aerospace technologies. To give its new BR-X5 Racing all the qualities required in terms of solidity as well as wearing comfort, Bell & Ross has chosen to create a high-tech case, combining carbon and titanium, whose design and conception lof the watch are entirely dedicated to functionality, for a result that is both aesthetically pleasing and high-performance.The BR-X5’s multi-component case architecture, visible from the side, emphasizes purity and technicality. The sandwich structure, held together by four bead-blasted titanium screws, is composed of two grade 2 titanium plates and a one-piece black DLC titanium container. The latter integrates the crown shoulders and houses the movement. The square bezel, composed of two parts in titanium and braided carbon, underlines the technical aesthetics of motor racing. Designed to offer maximum comfort, the watch strap is available in titanium or rubber. Its attachment to plates independent of the case and its articulated links ensure perfect ergonomics, allowing the watch to adapt naturally to the wrist.When design is inspired by racing The dial design naturally draws its inspiration from racing car dashboards. The central second hand features a checkerboard-type graduation accurate to the quarter-second. The minutes are displayed on the flange on the outside of the dial, while the hours appear on the inside, inscribed on the dial glass. The typography of the numerals reflects the codes of the Maison’s sports watches.To ensure optimum legibility, even in the dark, the hour numerals and hour and minute hands are coated with white Super-LumiNova® X1 luminescent material with green emission. The tip of the second hand receives a touch of red, making it easier to read while further enhancing the watch’s dynamic temperament.Motor sidePrecision and reliability are the hallmarks of this 41 mm timepiece, equipped with an automatic manufacture movement guaranteed for five years. The BR-CAL.323 caliber, chronometer-certified by the COSC, is a veritable showcase of watchmaking expertise. It is revealed through the dial and caseback, offering total transparency of the mechanism. The highly visible date display through a large aperture is the hallmark of the Manufacture mechanism, as is the power reserve indicator (70 hours). The latter has been specially designed to reinforce the BR-X5 Racing’s sporty style, its hexagonal shape echoing that of the case. The power reserve on this limited edition of 500 also evokes the automotive world: like a fuel gauge with an “E” for “Empty” and an “F” for “Full”, indicating not the amount of fuel remaining, but the remaining power reserve (from 0 to 3 days).
